Background                                                     

RFS Pharma, LLC, is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that was founded by Dr. Raymond F. Schinazi to develop new drugs for the treatment of HIV-1 and hepatitis infections as well as emerging viruses.  Located in a laboratory facility in suburban Atlanta, RFS Pharma will continue to provide growth to the pharmaceutical industry in Georgia.  Incorporated in 2004, RFS Pharma in-licensed a series of  anti-HIV drugs including Amdoxovir^® (AMDX, DAPD) from Emory University and the University of Georgia Research Foundation.  In clinical studies, DAPD is effective at lowering HIV load, even in individuals with resistant virus strains. DAPD may also be effective for the treatment of hepatitis B virus (HBV).  In addition to its own pipeline, RFS Pharma is actively seeking promising new drugs for in-licensing   Dr. Schinazi has had considerable past success in both regards.

RFS Pharma will utilize its strong scientific talent and know-how to develop promising drugs for the treatment of life-threatening illnesses where there is substantial and growing unmet medical need.

New Technology

The company intends to concentrate its efforts in the areas of antiviral therapies, but will be opportunistic about developing other promising technologies.
