RFS Pharma's History of Success

Raymond F. Schinazi, Ph.D., D.Sc. (Hon.) is the Founder and Director of RFS Pharma, LLC. He is Professor at Emory University, holds the Frances Winship Walters Chair in Pediatrics, and serves as Co-Director of the Emory University Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Virology and Drug-Discovery Core. In addition, Dr. Schinazi is Professor of Chemistry at Georgia State University and a Senior Research Career Scientist at the Atlanta Department of Veterans Affairs. He has a long history of bridging the science-business gap and is most widely recognized for his contributions in the field of HIV and hepatitis B. Dr. Schinazi and his colleagues at Emory University were responsible for bringing a record royalty to Emory University for HIV products. He was one of the principal founders of Triangle Pharmaceuticals, Idenix Pharmaceuticals, and Pharmasset, Inc. Dr. Raymond Schinazi has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers and 7 books, and holds more than 80 U.S. patents.
